| Garrison Lake is an interesting paddle in
either the daytime or under the full moon.
Put-in and take-out are in the same spot.
This lake is freshwater on top...salt water a
yard or two beneath the surface. When the
lake breaches into the ocean the fresh water
flows off the top leaving the lake with a much
higher salt content...which affects the fresh
water dependent fish, animals, and birds.
Paddle serenely through calm water...look at
birds and mammals and enjoy the humans that live
in homes adjacent to this lake.
Drive west on 18th Street. You'll see
the launch ramp.
