If you are going to paddle with the Lunartics meet at 0900 in the parking lot of the Best Western Country Inn (2025 Riverwalk Dr., Fortuna, CA  95540,  707-725-6822).  We will relocate to the take-out and carpool to the put-in.  The put-in will most likely be 6-8 miles upriver from Scotia.  We will have scouted the route Saturday sometime.  Bring water and a lunch.  There is a possibility that Cheryl and I won't be there.  See the website for details. 

This appears to be a very mild relaxing paddle.  Google Earth the trip if you want to know what it is like.  Or read the Paddle to the Headwaters information.

Final Tally:  5 paddlers had a great time on the Eel.  We paddled the 10 mile stretch from Scotia to Fortuna.  We put-in after the 10 miles races had left.  We were passed many times by the 30 miles racers.  Some of those folks are animals!  It was very interesting to see what and how kayak racers race.  A fun day.  A little bit of rain...but mainly we were dry.

The Best Western on Riverwalk in Fortuna was a wonderful place to stay.
